suddenly, he's half awake, skirting between a euphoric state of semi consciousness and the cold grip of a heartless headache. his eyelids lag.
he peers at ezra nonetheless, his words running haphazard in his mind; all he knows is the grip of the pain in his chest, and how, unattended, it will leave him bleeding. he imagines inside out organs and bloodshot eyes, but all the rest return to ezra.
viv's fingers shake; occupying the space above his head. after a wilful pause (strands feel synthetic under his fingertips) vivien gives in. his fingers roam, gently tugging at knots, massaging lightly. he feels anaemic. light headed almost. he knows, all he knows is this, that come the time he wakes up he shall will himself to forget. forget. forgive. blood is already seeping through paper arteries, tissue veins.
