Ishtar, (Akkadian), in Mesopotamian religion, goddess of war and lust. This was what she had been summoned for the first time. To play the role of a Goddess and she grew to love this role. She was amused by the humans that worship her, and loved the magicians that had gathered to summon her. She was bathe in riches, in wine and in the pleasures of the flesh. As long as she played goddess she got anything and everything she could have wanted. She was allowed to judge others, start wars and later her story became even bigger. In these stories she is sometimes is the daughter of the sky god An, sometimes his wife; in other myths she is the daughter of Nanna, god of the moon, or of the wind god, Enlil. She was also the goddess of rain and thunderstorms—leading to her association with An, the sky god—and was often pictured with the lion, whose roar resembled thunder. This is where her true story of her life on earth is seen. [break][break]
Ishtar’s similarity to the lion was because of her Giffin form that was seen by few. Her god powers of rain and thunderstorms came from the fact that she could control electricity and could call rain to fall from the sky when upset. She was characterized as young, beautiful, and impulsive. She enjoyed creating chaos and the finer things in life, she was picky, controlling and free spirited. Still this love of life could not last forever could it? She went on many years being summoned over and over by new magicians, always a part of the same cult. That was until one day that stopped, and she was silenced for the longest time. The first time she was summoned outside of the cult she had been angered by the reasoning behind her summoning and the lost of her worship, now she was only a story, nothing to be feared. She had killed that magician in rage, and then went back into slumber. [break][break]
She was summoned a few more times, and either did as she was asked out of boredom (most that summoned her could hardly control her, biting off more than they could chew) or she killed them out of spite. Years passed and no one would summon her, her name being passed down by magician’s as a djinn that could not be controlled, forbidden, and dangerous. Then came a magician named Royce, a young women who wanted power, and thought that summoning Ishtar was something she could do in her delusions. Still when Ishtar was summoned she had every mind to kill the child that summoned her, but instead they made a deal. For her freedom to do as she pleased in the human world, she would protect Royce, and in doing so have a way of healing her spirit without losing her connection to coming back. It was a contact that would promise to make things a lot more interesting.

Ishtar’s powers are what one might call godly, she was summoned to be a goddess and did not disappoint her people. Although her story has been twisted she is perfectly fine with being seen as a goddess of war, fertility and sky. Her powers do reflect her love chaos, she can call on storms, force rain to fall. Allow electricity to spark from her body, or down the blade of a weapon she may be holding. Her powers are flexible, flowing with the wind currents, sky, or better known as air magic, Ishtar is a powerful creature. For her shapeshifting powers, she can turn into the elegant Griffin.
