Lorelei didn't believe the magician. Not even a little bit. She had never come across a person whose blood literally tasted so much different because they were sick. Sure, livestock sometimes got a cold here and there, but there was literally no change when it came to the taste. But this one's blood just tasted so odd that she doubted she'd ever forget it.
It made her uneasy.
"You cannot be this innocent," the noble marveled, staring at him in utter confusion. Normally, punishment meant something along the not-so-innocent lines of things in this part of the world, so for this magician to be so oblivious as to what she was implying, it was just so ridiculous to her. How could he just be so... blind? "I hope you do realize that your position means absolutely nothing to me. High minister or not, I'd still punish you in some way."
The noble circled around him, sparing a glance at the creature before inching closer to Jacob. Reaching out her hand, she very lightly slid her fingers over his cheek and stared at him intently. "I'd figure that even those up above knew that punishment was not always a bad thing. It can be... gratifying in a way."

Why was it that Jacob was so bad at lying? Or more so why could he never come up with a way to get people from asking things that he was not conformable with. Still it looked as if Lorelei was not about to let things go, even more so since she was even willing to threaten him. "Would, umm, well you see doing so would.. just, maybe it is time I take me leave."
He was feeling very uncomfortable, not just because she was onto his secret, but because of the way he touched him. Jacob did not do well with being touched, well when it was by a woman at least. See he had tried to get into understand.. the more interesting things of being an adult, but his fear always over took him. He wanted to wait, wait until he had found the perfect woman, marry her, and then he would worry about the more physical things.
He had woman hit on him before mostly because of his rank, but this was surely different. She touched him, as if she was just hitting on him, but she also mentioned a punishment. There was no way that Jacob was going to be willing for such a thing, and he was sure that it was time to go. He took a step back from her slow, he put one hand up between them, not that it would really do much if she got determined to get him.
Still he did glance over at his djinn and found it odd that the little guy didn't seem worried at all. "Really, I think I got my answer.." He continued to stutter as he stepped back, but he was not looking at where he was going. Jacob ended up tripping over some carpet and fell onto the nearest couch. His Djinn got startled and hopped over to a different chair to sit on.

Oh, was that fear in his eyes? Lorelei found it so strange that he would look so frightened just because she was barely touching him. Most of her kind would've taken that as an invitation of sorts and would've happily gone along with it. Hell, she was even positive that those that lived at the surface would also take it as such. So why was this one so afraid? It's not as if she had struck him just now.
Even more surprising was when he managed to trip and fall.
"Are... you alright?" she questioned, her voice a mixture of surprise and some concern as she stared at him in disbelief. If he was this clumsy, it was a miracle that he had lived as long as he has. "Have a nice trip, did we? I hope the landing was soft." Okay, so she was teasing him a little bit, but it was just the tiniest bit amusing that he had gotten so nervous that he had tripped.
Staying in her spot, the noble tilted her head to the side while she watched him. "I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable, you know. You just... seem so easy to tease. But I suppose you're not ready for that sort of thing judging from how nervous and petrified you looked only a moment ago. Maybe it is time you return to the surface. Back to your plushy life full of innocence."
Because while she wasn't willing to eat him and his innocence alive, doesn't mean that the rest of her kind wouldn't be up for that sort of thing. Perhaps she was just being to kind, but she certainly had no intention of harming him really (which is why she still technically felt bad for attacking him earlier). It was because of that kindness (and guilt) that she offered him her hand to help him stand up, giving him a small hint of a smile.
"Are you sure you'd be able to make it on your own? It would be rude of me to send a guest off without someone to guide them if they don't know their way. And I certainly would be saddened to hear if something happened to a kind one such as you."
