Perfection was expected out of her the very moment she began school. She needed to be the smartest, study the hardest, learn everything forwards, backwards, and with obscure facts. Her mind was sharp, and her purpose was clear - she needed to be the best. She summoned her first Djinn at eleven years old, just to test herself to see if she could do it, before immediately letting them go (after showing him off in her pajamas to her very sleepy and surprised mentor). Everything she earned, she earned through hard work. Her mentor put her through rigorous tests, would constantly quiz her at random times, and gave punishment for not knowing. Everything was logical or could be found logically, or at least it had to be. Emotional outbursts were a luxury, and the old man of a mentor had no idea and no inclination to deal with such possible outbursts as he raised a blond little girl from childhood to adult hood.
[break][break]
Isolde found herself studying and pouring over her books so much that the real world (and what she might be missing) sort of slid by her unnoticed. Social skills were abrupt, as her mentor lacked that trait himself, but what they lacked in social graces, they made up for in inventions. Isolde's passion came not from the books, but experimentation and science. Science and magic books littered her shelves and the ability to mix compounds in order for explosive chemical reactions thrilled her. She would heavily defend her 'hobby' as it were, up until this very moment. That hobby and the invention of a time delay explosive earned Isolde a spot in the Ordnance branch of the military. Demolitions, ammunition, weapons, and making sure the correct things 'go boom' is her specialty.
[break][break]
Isolde's position as a major was earned at the age of twenty three, and she couldn't be prouder. She's wanting to climb as high as she can, and is willing to play the game in order to get what she wants. She's a perfectionist because science and magic demand that she be, and years of training and grooming from her mentor make her that way. She doesn't like laziness, very rarely sits still, and worst of all, she hates people who think that they're better than everyone else - which is why she barely gets along with some of her superiors. Hard work should be rewarded, not bad behavior, yet the popular are chosen over the hard working, which irritates her to no end. Usually her mouth stays shut, but there are a few who bring out the mouth and temper, and frustration with enough goading.
[break][break]
A part of her prays for the war to be over, for the Djinn and monsters to go away. Magic and science mixed together took her far, to the point where she found ways to make even spirits hurt with the right ingredients combined together with a flash and a bang of heat. Each battle rattles her, which only fuels the temper to become stronger and smarter, and to quell the small voice that's warning her about going too far.

Isolde's djinn generally follow the same contract - they are to be available at any time, and kept close during battles or possible altercations. They're free to rest when need be, but she prefers to keep them as companions and protectors instead of fighters. Isolde's main Djinni, Tecery , has been at her side for almost ten years, and specializes in barriers and protection wards - a useful magic when dealing with explosives and making new ones burst in your work shop. Isolde doesn't believe in hurting djinn, and will dismiss them from contracts immediately if there's too much drama or personality class. While Tecery's defense is very strong, her attack powers revolve around the barriers she makes. She makes barrier weapons, such as a barrier bat, to bludgeon anyone who gets to close and wants to harm her master.
