he is soft spoken when he does talk, and it is not often. he speaks when spoken to, in the most respectful of voices. oliver, sweet boy, always wanting the best for others. it’s hard for him to show it, through glossy glass eyes and tight lipped frowns. emotion has been difficult since then.[break][break]
his father didn’t like him, his mother cherished him but was distant. it was before the rift happened, he was a child in curiosity and looked through a stain glassed window, oblivious to the world around him. it was colorful, fun, happy - oliver found things simpler this. the sky as his limit, paris his backyard. the effiel tower his backdrop as he ran around chasing girls with a stick and laughing with his buddies over the newest cartoon about fighting ninjas.[break][break]
he was twelve, the world ended before his eyes. he cries, thankful for the magicians, for he does not know where his parents are, only that they have saved him from a reckoning. he is a boy, and boys are but children, and children cannot fight. he grows up in the war-torn world, sees the reconstruction of his backdrop nine years later and is stupid enough to hide away in the catacombs in fear of what, he does not remember. a man whose name is blurred in his memory saved him[break][break]
the blurry man was light and he was gentle, he was carefree and he was love. his drinks taste of iron and he offers his neck willingly in submission.[break][break]
it seems like he blinks twice and there’s a burning in his throat and he accidentally murders two livestock trying to quench it. forever twenty-one - his mother loved that store, how ironic for him to be as such. he is new to this - blurry man taught him survival, taught him how to live, taught him how to fight. blurry man is a blur, he cannot remember who he is, is he still alive, who is blurry man. perhaps he does not want to remember, as he assimilates himself with the strigoi and no one ever has to know his past.[break][break]
he only does his guard job, does it well, when did he become second-in-command? he does not remember, everything a hazy red, he wishes he could use his power on himself, go back to his parisian delight fifty years ago.

he creates illusions - makes people see things they want to see, the unreal perceived as real. he manipulates what his targets see and feel, creating things that do not exist. this can either go good or bad - sometimes he will create an illusion of peace and happiness, other times use it to conjure up their greatest fears and nightmares. sometimes it is as simple manipulating his surroundings, even his appearance, although he can only transform cosmetic details, and only for his target to see.[break][break]
there are severe limitations to this power. he has to focus on the target heavily, and while he is able to have more than one target at a time, he cannot hold the illusion up for long as he tires out easily and gives into his bloodlust. the target has to be within a certain range of him. and the illusion falls apart if the target is strong-willed enough to combat it.
