swirling mist and smoky liquids, the other place was her peace, her home. she was everywhere at once, she didn’t exist and yet she did. it’s hard to remember it now, her essence no longer connected to that world, but she had been happy there. at least, she thinks she was happy there. she can’t remember.[break][break]
the first time she had been brought to the human world was the rift, the rift and then she was trapped. she didn’t like it at first, she didn’t like it at all, she grew weak of taint and she couldn’t see like she used to, feel like she used to. she was one. now she was different. she fought to go back but she could not, a spirit trapped in a toxic world. she needed to go back to the other place, the other place, the other place...[break][break]
her essence felt heavy, broken, hurt, almost something foreign, when she found herself again. she was willing, unwilling, she didn’t care so long as she didn’t turn into one of those monsters. but she could not go to the other place, the other place was gone, she couldn’t feel it anymore, there was no link, severed, broken. but she was no monster, insensible being, not crazy nor insane.[break][break]
it was first the craving of blood, red and delicious and divine. she drank her fill and she reveled in her new found power. she was rogue, gone, confused. and then a new leader, someone she could follow - someone with more power than her, she realized. she was one of the first, one of the most powerful, and yet she knew better than to challenge - a request for death not on her list.[break][break]
she values her new life, her lust for power and blood. she doesn’t need a lot, only a little, but it gives her a surge, a rush, more power than she feels that she deserves. she’s addicted. she won’t turn anyone - she doesn’t want to risk it, the turning, the possible mutiny, the taint. her blood is not theirs to drain, not theirs to take, it is her’s. they are weak, and lesser than her.
