In fairness, she's sort of all ways been like this. "This is (in no particular order), hatred, an unnerving stare, saying "don't touch me," picking off scabs, walking with her pointy chin cutting clouds, painting her nails very, extremely, disgustingly red (you know, if wine was made from maraschino cherries). [break][break]
It starts with an absense of caring, the complete lack of ability to apply herself because why should she, Poppy isn't about to invest her all in anything she isn't about (she isn't about anything). [break][break]
The sick, stupid irony of it is that maybe she's somebody's older sister but she's definitely a failure and she feels his teeth on her neck and her wrists and then in really terrible places. She's his angel and salvation and he says breaking her skin is like smashing porcelain and all of it makes her really sick to her stomach. Really overwhelmingly sick and she can't keep food down and suddenly she's gone from something dirty (somebody's meal) to something really strange. [break][break]
Even though the little silver dagger makes her hands absolutely ache and she can't calm the knot in her stomach, the weight of it is so comfortable in her small and shaking hand. It's so comfortable when she uses it to tear out his stupid neck, to carefully cut his stupid arm from it's stupid socket... and so on. When she lights a fire she puts the match out on her tongue. [break][break]
Now she is alone and lost, the way she was and the way she likes it.
