There was laughter, once upon a time. It was contagious, filled with so much hope and life. A young girl filled with hopes and dreams of a better future, a life basked in the sun. You wanted to be a doctor, a lawyer, maybe a veterinarian. Your days were filled with concern about boys, grades, and getting a date to prom. You were an older sister, a daughter, a friend, and a student. [break][break]
Everything changed when chains wrapped around your ankles and dragged you underground. They were attracted to your smile, your optimism, your carefree eyes, everything that made you taste sweet. They stripped everything that made you what you were. Instead of prom, you were on a ground, bleeding, trying to hold on to the last strings of your humanity. [break][break]
Eventually, you saw an opportunity. You clasped a piece of glass in your frail weak hands and drove it into the heart of your captors. They laughed. They liked that you had some spunk left, and gave you a choice - livestock or immortality. You picked the latter. You became the very thing you hated, but you just wanted the torment to stop. Now you guard them, protect the very things that destroyed your humanity, and you do it with such apathy. Who are you anymore? Do you even know? The torment never really stopped, maybe you should have just died.
