christian clings to his tattered cloak as he ventures deep into the catacombs. dreary scenery greets him all around. it's depressing to be here, but these nightly runs are quick. he's been warned of the consequences of trespassing since young, but that doesn't stop christian from venturing out here. he's searching for a familiar face, some kind of sign that they're still alive, but each fruitless search convinces him that his elder sibling's dead.
he glowers at the passing faces with his best "fuck off" face, only hoping that an unfriendly look will keep them at bay. he's not a part of this system, he's served his dues and is losing his mind, but nothing can convince him into being a mindless piece of livestock for strigoi killing.
christian quickens his pace. the catacombs are surprisingly cold and the shirt on his back is slick with sweat from all the running around. he forsees calling it quits soon. today's search is fruitless as ever.

He's against the wall, hidden in the shadows as he watches this man walk through. His face is unfriendly and leaves a lot to be desired, but he follows him. He notices how tired he is, how he clings to his robes as he hurries through the maze-like catacombs.
Chevalier knows the streets well, quietly following after the shorter male. Soon, he seems tired and the strigoi steps out in front of the frantic man. His eyes seem to glow in the barely there light of street lamps.
"What do you want?" He asks, curiously.

he looks like shit in comparison to some of the pretty faces here. better for him. he doesn't need strigoi hungering for blood. christian keeps going at a brisk pace, trying not to make eye contact with anyone. he moves on instinct alone, reeling away from chevalier as though he's venomous.
"it's none of your business," he growls. he doesn't give two hoots about the monarchy. as far as christian is concerned, they are the reason he lives in shambles. chevalier's face, pretty as he may be, doesn't strike a chord with chrsitian, who is haggard, sleep deprived, and looks worse for wear. he tries to step around the man, eager to end this conversation and be on his merry way.

"It's plenty my business," he states softly as he moves to get into the raven-haired man's way. Lucky for the man he didn't look all that appetizing, however, it had been a while since Chevalier had last eaten.
"You look worried and flustered," he stated as he moved in to get closer to the smaller male, perking his eyebrows up just a tad. "Are you running from someone?"
It wouldn't be a shock to the blonde if he happened to be. He was a mouse in a lion's den.

christian tenses terribly. one wrong step will send him into these pits of hell, although he can't say that he's far from it. the taller, cleaner man isn't leaving him alone, and christian has a sinking feeling churning in his gut.
is he runnning? "no," he spits with disdain, "these legs could at least serve their purpose before i'm dead." he's run outside for all he could care. he's seen things, amazing things, horrible things, and he just wants to forget it all now.
he thinks he looks like a fool, a cornered little streetrat against the stronger non-humans. christian says to hell with it - it's better than going down dead if he can manage that.

He's so nervous and Chevalier can feel it, like a cat watching a wounded bird trying to take flight with a broken wing. The strigoi wants to paw at him, play with this winded man.
Another step forward. The man's heart is pounding. "Frightened?" He asks, his eyes focused on the human's neck. "You think I'm going to hurt you?"
Chevalier takes the man gingerly by the jaw, tilts his head from one side to the other, getting a good look at this worn down fool. "You look exhausted."

chevalier isn't relenting, but christian isn't either. he's met face to face with death countless of times, and it makes chevalier a lot less intimidating in his eyes. they can't hurt him more than he already is. he trains his gaze on the taller man's, barely flinching.
his hands are on him and christian stiffens. despite the fact that he's been cornered and he's exhausted beyond belief, there is a look of defiance in his eyes. "do you plan on feeding me and giving me a bed to sleep in?" he hisses. considering he lives in the slums, it sounds like a paradise. "if not, leave me alone." his hand moves to push chevalier's away.

He cooes, shushing the man softly as he reaches for the hand that tries to push his away. Chevalier speaks sweetly, uses his charm, a force that his species allows him to wield. He attempts to calm the man, a hand brushing along the side of his face, a thumb gently brushing a cheek.
"There's no need to be so sour," he states calmly, his eyebrows rising, his eyelids half open. "You'll attract more flies with honey than vinegar."
Perhaps if the man wasn't such a snappy thing, Chevalier might help him. However, the blonde is a strigoi. Can they really be trusted?

christian is trying so damn hard to keep this guy at bay, but he's not relenting. his body tenses when he feels his hand on his face. he gets terrible vibes from this person and wants nothing more than to leave. he's not looking to attract flies, not if they're going to be as persistent as him.
"what business do you have with me?" he asks bitterly. as far as christian knows, he's a mentally ill commoner with nothing to his name. there's nothing he can provide or give.

"Whatever business I want," he replies with a smile, his eyebrows risen as he gets a good look at this little rat.
The man smiles a little more, letting out a soft chuckle as he leans forward, getting closer to this man's neck. so close, he can hear the blood pulsing through those veins, the heat of his body so warm on his palm. "And at the current moment... I'm incredibly thirsty..."

he's too close, too close, and christian's entire body is stiff and rigid. as he exhales, he shudders against the words too close to his body, and survival instincts kick in. he extends his arms with as much force as he can muster.
there's no time to even sputter 'what the fuck' at chevalier. his instincts scream at him to run. like a frightened doe, he sprints as fast as his fatigued legs will take him.

Quickly, like a cat reaching out to a bird who tries to fly away, Chevalier grabs at the poncho wrapped around the shorter male, though it slips though his fingers and rips.
The man dashes away, but Chevalier begins to laugh. His voice echoes through the narrow catacombs "What a fast, little rat you are!"
But, Chevalier's feet are nimble. Quick. He dashes after him, though so very quietly, and before he knows it, the strigoi grips his arm and pushes him hard against the wall nearby, shoving his body roughly like a doll.

he doesn't look back even when he feels his poncho being seized from him. he feels weak and he's gasping for breath when chevalier is there laughing. his stomach churns with an awful foreboding feeling.
then he feels something on his arm and yelps, hissing in pain when his shoulders hit the concrete. something feels broken, but christian can't move. his chest rises and falls and he's drenched with sweat, fear consuming him. he's fucked up, fucked up, but he can't find the words to speak.
all he has are his eyes, which glare down at chevalier with defiance.

Ooh, yes, Chevalier can hear that bone breaking beneath Christian's flesh. It sounds so crisp and fresh, a perfect addition. It persuades the strigoi further and he traps the man against the wall, his mouth at the man's ear. He lets out a chuckle, light, soft, and grins.
"Say... Have you ever been bitten before?" He asks before pressing soft lips to Christian's warm neck. "By a strigoi?"
Though, he doesn't give the man time to answer before he sinks his sharp fangs deep into that heated flesh and sucks at the punctures, drinking his greedy fill.

there's nowhere to run. pain blossoms from every nerve in his body and he howls like a rabid animal. his fingers move to scratch and claw at anything that will provide him respite. the larger man's words make his body shudder and pain eats him whole.
the puncture is like being stabbed. christian is hissing in pain until he stops feeling it altogether. his head feels light and dizzy. his knees, unable to support him, buckle under his weight and he lets his frame fall limp.
