eliza clenched her teeth, when were they going to arrive? it was annoying her, but then again she did change the time of their meeting multiple times since her flower shop was popular...at least today it was.
finally, something drastic had happened and it was time for them to have a get together. discuss plans and do the real deal rebellion sh*t she had been yearning for. the place that they were meeting at was in the back wall of a bar with soundproof walls, it was nice and comfortable although it was getting kind of hot since there wasn't an air conditioner.

Henri had been trying his very very best not to be late, but that one leader wanted to change the time. Again and again and again. As if she didn't see the urgency of the situation.
Still, he was nothing but smiles when he entered their meeting place. He wanted to be positive with the tragedy they were faced with today. He'll be truthful - he felt absolutely terrible. Not only were people dead, but he knew. He knew exactly what had happened.
"Strigoi attack. A little birdie told me that's what they're called. They live in the catacombs in some glorified kingdom." Judah, the kid, was right. He knew. He could have, done something. He knew about vampires, strigoi, and he did nothing. "I... Um, what do we know so far?"

as soon as henri entered eliza almost shot a glare at him, instead giving him her most obvious smile of displeasure. however, as soon as he informed her of what had happened, an evil grin took its place. was it now the time to finally eradicate those that do not belong? after waiting patiently for a screw up, would her kind understand...perhaps not so easily.
henri's voice stood out against the stuffy and dank room, replying to him with a lilt in her voice. "the magicians are going to get screwed by us soon enough. however, with this attack we might as well start our own revolution right here right now." though it may seem feasible at this point, she knew that he knew that it's all talk.
"as far as we know, the stroigi attack sounds like more of a hit and run ordeal. apparently they left after the damage they've done back underground, it sounds fishy."

She wonders if being fashionably late is still a valid excuse.
Sure, this was important. But if it was really important, she doubts that it would have really been something that would have been pushed back time and time again. ( Her time is just as precious as anyone else's, but she'll admit that she did no favors in scheduling the meeting either. )
Nose crinkles at the smell of cheap wine and maybe the ever faint twinge of blood from a disagreement gone wrong. Snap, her tasteless bubblegum goes before she quietly approaches a familiar looking bunch. Eliza looks no more like she belongs there than Henri. If the goal was to be inconspicuous, they could check that off as a failure. Arms cross over her chest before her gum snaps again, Astrid listening to the brief discussion before deciding to announce her arrival with an interjection of her own.
"What I 'ear is that they got real tired of playin' nice. They don' look tha' much different than us but they got some kinda ..." She blows another bubble and it snaps again.
"Like a diff'ent kinda magic, y'know. 'M thinkin' maybe th' think they can get away wit' it since not a lotta people care 'bout us. Th' prob'ly got more power 'an us any'ow." It wasn't much of a leap in logic. They were a collective but far from a united front. Besides. The entire social structure was based on the haves and the have-nots. "Any'ow, we should prob'ly keep it on the hush hush." No need to really start a city-wide panic over something they couldn't really explain. (Besides, she doubts much of anyone would understand the situation.)

"No revolution, yet. We're trying to gain members, slowly and steadily, so we can overtake the magicians. Spread propaganda without getting caught." But this was something they could use to their advantage. The people knew now, the scene clear as day, the magicians could not cover something of this scale up. The dead bodies, bloodless, drained. The tragedy.
How were they going to explain that away? "Is it magic? I was under the impression they were just blood sucking monsters who lived deep underground in this magical underground kingdom ruled by royalty and they keep people to munch on their blood." It sounded sarcastic - Henri didn't mean for it to sound sarcastic at all. But that sincerely was his impression after Judah told him a few things. He'd mostly been concerned about the fact that strigoi were real versus the mechanics of strigoi.
"I can't imagine we'd be able to keep hush hush about something that everyone and their mothers know about now. This meeting is how we're going to respond to it - how we're going to turn it to our advantage. If either of you have any other ideas besides 'They've been hiding this under our nose for forever and now look what's happened they're evil' I'm all ears." It was a tragedy, he acknowledged that already, but the three of them needed a plan. If only they hadn't pushed the time back, they wouldn't be in a bind. But that didn't matter in the long run. They needed to make a decision fast, yes.
"Any other concerns to address too? How's recruitment going on, anyways?"

ah, here comes astrid the one who she finds the most annoying and god awful. something about her irked eliza, but she never could put her finger on what it was. listening to astrid's talk she was basically shot down by henri and of course eliza knew deep down in her heart that henri's probably the most logical out of all of them, or at least for right now.
"well aren't strogoi magical themselves anyhow? we can put them next to the magicians and we wouldn't know the difference." eliza said spitefully. perhaps what she said was going to far when it came down to insulting someone, but it didn't matter since it was just them.
"as for recruitment i'm sucking ass at it. it's hard when i only intermingle with the soldier boys." eliza drawled casually.
NOTE! my internet sucks and my laptop is broken so i'm on my mini ipad. expect shorter and somewhat late response. srry.

Her sources haven't been turning up much material that was worth sharing for the most part.
Nothing worth sharing with Eliza, anyways. She's never had much fondness for the other, although; she won't deny that she doesn't admire the woman's moxie. She had quite a mouth on her for someone who looked like they couldn't do so much as hurt a fly. Meanwhile, Henri was as soft as they came and briefly she wonders how it was that he had gotten mixed up in all this business in the first place. (For that matter, how was it that she had gotten tangled in this chain of events herself?)
Kept people underground, huh? A sideways glance, Astrid pausing for a moment before she turns away. It was a bit of a leap in information. She didn't know about that. That was provided, unless, that he was just exaggerating. "Are y' serious 'bout that? D' they really keep people down there t' like? Feed on?"
Was it even literally eating or was it? "Then why did th' leave those people up 'ere, I wonder ... if th' got food at home, ain't no reason t' be causin' trouble up 'ere." But then again, that poses the question. Where were they getting the food? Surely, they couldn't just spirit people away without anyone noticing.
"I meant th' magic stuff, man. I 'unno if it's real information or not. S'just somethin' I 'eard from the grapevine. If we don't 'ave proof, there's no reason t' mention it. All everyone knows right 'ow is that a lott'a good people died fer' no good reason other than these sons of bitches 'ad t' get a lil' outta 'and."
A shrug. "I've got nothin'. So far, you've got th' best information outta all of us. Good goin', man." Astrid gently pats the other's shoulder before arm drops back to her side and she looks at Eliza. Figures. Lot of good that she could ever do. She was all talk, no walk. "Nothin' on my end either. S'ard t' come by people to join us wi'out raisin' too many alarms. Most people don't react real kindly t' shouts of anarchy, y'know. You?" She raises a slender eyebrow in question.
More importantly, how have they been doing with everything? Were they resting properly? Eating?

He listened quietly to what both of them had to say. They had to coordinate, had to unite, had to come up with one single theory to establish credibility. It was important, of course. Just what this theory was, well, it was to be determined. Henri also tried to ignore the obvious tension between the two other girls in the room. He knew them both well, having to work with them amongst other things, but if they could just put down their differences a little they would all have a better time.
Or so Henri assumed. He was on pretty good terms with both of them, mostly because he didn't have a malicious bone in his body, save for spirits but even then it was more of a wariness than anything. He just wanted the world to be a better place, really. And the resistance was a one-way ticket to that sort of thing.
"My source is one of them. I can't say more, I don't want to endanger anyone, and I've got to be careful since it's such sensitive information..." He wonders if, for a moment, a strigoi might actually hunt him down because he had this information. He really hoped not. In all actually Henri would probably faint, or something like that. "Your guess is as good as mine. I don't know, maybe they're sick of it? I've only met one person who told me little, I don't know what the conditions down there are, what even they are. But the kid looks really beat up..."
He might've said too much, but he was amongst good company. He shrugged. "Yes, let them rest in peace, this tragedy that occurred. Their sacrifice will not go down in vain. It is the commoners they attacked, our people..." He could hardly go on, consumed by emotion and sheer passion.
He too a deep breath, sighed. "Yeah, but at what price did my information come at? I knew about all of this beforehand, but we never got a chance to meet properly before all of this happened. I wonder if it might've been different." Henri was blaming himself harshly for this, even though rationally he couldn't have possibly stopped this.
"You know how the people in Pigalle are. They don't want to get involved, the resistance is too dangerous, the magicians may come. It's the rumors, and the magicians haven't come. It's still difficult, but I think I may be on the cusp of convincing one of my long time friends." He never really did know, and he never really did want to push the subject either. It was sensitive to some people.
"So, we're good with spreading that theory?"

ughhh, henri just makes it so hard to not like him or perhaps it's because he's so persuasive. letting out small sigh she nodded listening to all that he had to say and yet even feeling a sort of relevance to what he was saying. after all, they were in this together striving for the same goal.
earlier when she was listening to astrid at some point she wanted to tune her out, but instead she ended up actually listening to her. not even interrupting what she had to say which said a lot, perhaps the two of them were already getting under her skin.
"well the magicians have a tie with the djinns, for stroigi's to appear...they're not able to control stroigis right?" she faltered, djinns were the same as stroigis and forming a contract between a magician and djinn is applicable. even if stroigis are just djinns with diluted powers and using a human for a more sustenance host, it just didn't make sense to her.
to her this just made up her mind that magicians should not just be overthrown, but possibly even...exterminated. no, she was thinking too much but the idea of them gone was appealing.
henri desrosiers && astrid patenaude curse you guys. how could you do this to me and read two friggin' novels when i'm already reading a summer book for school eurghhh. XD also excuse this writing because i'm a night owl and i write usually at night so.

Sacrifice. She scoffs, the woman crossing her arms over her chest. A snap of her bubblegum in disgust. "Nothin' 'bout that was a sacrifice. That was murder. Cold-blooded murder." She mumbles under her breath. It was murder. Sacrifice was giving yourself up for a cause. Those people, she thought. Her hand grabs at her shoulder, nails digging into the soft flesh that they found. They didn't deserve that. They weren't sacrificing for shit. They were casualties in a fight that hadn't even begun and God, she wonders what else those people have up their sleeves. There were only three of them as it was.
A tiny rebellion of three and there were tens of people that had died. How many more? Fifty? Sixty? Hundred? How many more would die and be called a sacrifice?
"There's nothin' we could'a done 'bout it, Henri. 'ow could we 'ave known that somethin' like this 'ould happen? Tell th' people that there are some kinda hellish monsters? Things? No one would'a believed us any'ow." She replies. The important thing was that they had any information at all. They could move forward at least. What theory? God, they hadn't done anything. If there was any theories being discussed, it was all in their heads and not with their mouths.
Dijins? Astrid quirks her head, the woman holding up her hand and waving the other for them to stop. "'o one told me anythin' 'bout the dijinns. What are they and 'ow d'you know 'bout them, Liz?" The strigois were just something new. They didn't know anything about them save for what Henri knew about them and that wasn't much save for the fact that they ... what? Ate people. Shit, she didn't know what was going on and what they were dealing with and without the proper explanations; she wasn't going to let the situation move forward in the slightest.
One wrong move and it was all over for them.

As a reminder to all participants, commoners knowledge on djinn and strigoi is limited. Unless there is reason for them to know something, we ask that you keep in mind the scope of a commoners knowledge of djinn and strigoi. It's unlikely that any correlation between djinn and strigoi would be made. Any advanced information should be run by staff before being presented forth so as not to overreach.
It should be noted that no commoners yet knows how strigoi were born or that they have any relation to djinn. Thus far, it's only known that strigoi live in the catacombs and require blood for nourishment. Whether or not they are magical has not been made public even to those commoners privy to such information. Any relationship between the strigoi and magicians wouldn’t be known either. With that being said, please edit your posts to reflect this information.

gonna pretend that djinn stuff never happened.
"Alright guys, I'll spread word at the brothel. I'll assume each of you have your own way of spreading rumors, not that this is much of a rumor. We'll mourn the tragedy and try to get most of the commoners on our side. And recruits - and hopefully another meeting to wrap up everything with all the resistance members." They were mostly done here, Henri had not much else to say and it didn't look like either of them had much to add.
He started for the door, pausing for a second to look back at the other two. "Good luck guys! I'll see you around."
Henri was, after all, fairly busy outside of his resistance life.
