little escapes myron’s notice. a king knows all that happens above and below ground. judah’s little excursion, and his run in with a certain human, wasn’t missed. his interest was piqued by said human.
a sly grin pulls at his mouth. how easily he tracked the man down. not even the slightest hint of caution showed in his movements. interesting. thoughts skimmed from the surface of his mind revealed this common human to be a resistance leader. and judah had revealed quite a lot to him.

because henri's as unsuspecting as ever, he didn't immediately jump to the conclusion that this random guy who knew his name was a strigoi who was out to get him. not immediately.
what were the odds, anyways? just because he was a bit jumpy with the thought that vampires existed didn't mean that they were all. anyways, it must have been someone he knew because they knew his name. he just didn't recognize him.

Judah? The only Judah he remembers is-
Henri freezes, finally realizing that his fears have been turned from illusion to reality. Could this be a vampire? The only Judah he knows is that poor kid with the injuries and the only thing that he parted with knowing was the fact that vampires lived in the underground of Paris.
It's not secret he is now scared. It's actually very apparent. But still he hoped that this person - Myron didn't notice. Keyword hoped. The chance of this was slim.
"O-oh. Hello." Any thought of maybe Myron not knowing was thrown out as he heard his voice, meek trembling so uncharacteristic of him when he actually had the gall to step up and be a leader. He swallowed his fear - what would the others say if they saw him acting like this? "What do you have to offer? And what... What kind of common goals do we have?"
Considerably less shaky. That was an improvement.

Even though Henri hears Myron's words, he does not feel any better. He supposed they were words of comfort. He supposed that he should give props to the vampire for trying to make him feel better about this situation. Even if that last bit sounded dangerously like a threat.
Henri would greatly, greatly prefer if the resistance teamed up with the vampires. To what he isn't sure - death? He'd prefer anything compared to death. But he is definitely wary, especially with the recent event of that massacre. He's sure that if he did team up with them as allies, the rest of the resistance would be incredibly confused. And probably angry. He could just imagine it already.
"I understand. What do you, um, what do you propose we do?" He doesn't understand at all. Why they would attack the commoners, why they would want the magicians gone. Who even is this Myron dude anyways? He has so many questions, but he's too afraid to ask them for fear of death or something worse. "I should talk it over with the other leaders too. I wouldn't want to make a decision without them."
He's feebly grasping for a way to delay this conversation. Henri is sure it isn't working, anyhow.

such doubt displays in the prolonged muteness of the common boy. the words myron offers him aren't swallowed so easily, not is his offer accepted. only question leak from his mind yet his mouth speaks for delay, shows his hesitance just as clearly.
"you're concerned about the strigoi attack." no question is inflected in his statement. "that was the magicians, tempting my tortured people. for so long we're been kept in the dark, and one comes offering my naive subjects a place above ground and offered them you commoners as a token of trust. terrible, isn't it? you know how easily magicians throw away precious life."
with a hand to his chest, a flair of dramatics, he lament for the commoner. sorrow contorts his smooth face with furrowed brows and lines guiding down the frowning lips.
"my offer is just for you, henri. i'm afraid we can't work together if all your comrades knew. i have a reputation to uphold."

Henri's taken aback - again. Myron's just full of surprises and Henri's a little surprised, if not in disbelief. The entire thing seems incredibly fishy - and he doesn't like it. But he doesn't want to tell a vampire 'no thanks I'm kind of still reeling over the fact that you guys exist and that a bunch of you guys just killed some of my brethren', and it is definitely something the magicians would do.
He swallows his fear because he's reminded that, yet again, he could easily be eaten right about now. But he can agree - the magicians have never treated them right, they've never given a damn about commoner life. Myron, at least, gets that. He seems to be genuinely concerned, genuinely sad. Henri actually... feels somewhat sad, too. They may actually have some common ground. But he's more or less afraid to speak, but at least he's got some information on what exactly happened. An edge.
"Why not?" The words escape before he can think about why exactly Myron's got a reputation to uphold and why working with the resistance isn't good. He's by no means the main leader - at least, he doesn't feel like it. They're a group, a team. Henri can't just make decisions all willy nilly. "I mean, why me? Is it because of Judah? How... how is he?"
Henri's not exactly comfortable with Myron, but at least he's started to garner some sense of 'trust' (shady as Myron is, he seems like a good ally to have).
