“marcellus, you worry too much. do you really think the prime minister would let anything happen to me? our little game is far from over.” his laughter rises up, a pleasant melodious sound. “besides, those magicians needed to be reminded of our standing. did you hear that one, jeremiah’s mouth? our standing, OUR STANDING, as if we’re below them.”
his eyes rest on the blonde strigoi. within the arms of his throne he’s draped. pink eyes collect the scarce light, shadows playing on his face.

"I worry too much?" Marcellus wished that was true, but he felt that he had good reason to worry. Even more so since when Myron went about doing things his own way there was always cloud of disaster behind him. Marcellus sighed and shook his head to Myron's comment.
"Standing? Our standing is as followed with you as our leader we do was we will, within your your boundaries." that was when he looked at Myron with a raised eyebrow, his worries were clear in his voice.
"Being as that is, I can't imagine that these "strigoi attacks" were really so random, or rogue. So my lord, is there something that I should know before I decide to hunt the culprit? Because I would hate to turn a blind eye on this mess without a good reason."
Marcellue felt that Myron was hiding something from him and this did not sit well with him. Being head of the guard he was in a way, in charge of making sure the Strigoi stayed out of trouble, and then this happened. He was not pleased, not one bit.

“Which way?” she asked her guide, heading in the direction he indicated. The man hanging onto her shoulder was considerably worse for wear. Kali was of the opinion that he wouldn’t be caught dead relying on a woman if he were capable of walking on his own – he wasn’t. She heard laughter ring out, and the sounds of conversation up ahead. Honestly Kali had to commend the strigoi for remembering his way around down here considering his banged up state.
“I believe you’ve been looking for this?” She entered the cavernous throne room without decorum and released her grip on the injured strigoi, allowing him to crumple to the floor with a muffled yelp. Eh, maybe she could’ve been a bit nicer about it. At this point it really did look like she’d been the one who had injured the man (which, she had, but the rogue didn’t know that)… “L-lord Myron?” He seemed to squeak and Kali resisted the urge to kick him. Blessedly the rogue had the mind to tell his story swiftly, likely fearing that Myron might kill him for insurrection before he could get the whole thing out.
“We didn’t know it was a trick! The-the high minister, he sent his aide to me, to us, and said that he had arranged for us to begin living above ground. We were suspicious, distrustful, at first… but, he said were free to go above ground and drink from the commoners there. An act of good faith, he said… It seemed impossible, but-but he really stood by and let us attack them! And then…” the man gulped, “And then he turned on us. The filthy magician turned on us! I escaped,” he hissed softly, “The others were not so lucky…”
“And then I found this fellow on the street, barely able to move on his own, and thought to be a good Samaritan and see him home.” Kali smiled all-too-sweetly, not as concerned about whether or not these strigoi thought she was a wolf in sheep’s clothing. From what she’d seen above, she knew the council must be in a state of disarray and desperately trying to track down the perpetrators and do damage control – after all, the strigoi were their dirty little secret. But Kali wouldn’t let them escape this unscathed – oh no – they were going to the feel the impact of this incident keenly.

In his lap, arms wrapped around the king's neck. His lips press against Myron's flesh softly, his nose pressing gently against his jaw. A bright, blue eye cuts over to the other two in the room, the rogue on the floor. He smiles.
"Of course we follow Myron," he purrs, only a sliver of his face visible. "Loyalty... will show him who's worthy to stay under his protection."
He lifts up and presses his lips to the king's ear, "Can you really trust his words?" He whispers, though it's mainly to taunt the rogue on the floor. "Is he worth the mess he's made?"
A soft chuckle as he cuts his steely blue eyes over at the other's again, nuzzling his face against his king.

Marcellus was pulled away from his worries when someone decided to interrupt their conversation. He took no time in drawing his sword, his weapon of choice. The sharp blade was pointed right at the injured strigoi. "You fool, how dare you fall to such a simple trick, you will wish for death when I am done with you." Marcellus looked over his shoulder at Myron, Waiting for the permission to deal damage to this man, this weakling.

in unbroken silence he considers marcellus’ insinuation. of course myron was aware, perhaps not the perpetrator behind it, but that it was to transpire. had he not been so distracted with judah, he may have even cared enough to stop it. that boy was quite a handful.
“i sense it was going to happen.” he presses lightly kisses on chevalier’s lips, pleased at the consort’s apparent contentment and affections. “i’ve been preoccupied with other matters.”
before further talk on the subject continued, in came the battered strigoi and a woman of white hair and skin, with flower blooming in her eye. how bold. Interest piqued, he listened as they went on. a likely story indeed, yet he felt something was amiss. more to this than what was glimpsed on the surface.
“do you not trust in your king to see to the strigoi’s rise to power, and the eradication of those filthy magicians? haven’t i promised you the blue skies and sunshine?” he turns back his gaze to chevalier, touching lightly his soft skin. “kill him.”

She let them discuss amongst themselves, unflinching when the one drew his blade against the injured man. Kali was unsympathetic to his plight - he had, after all, been a fool. The rogue shrank back from the blade in horror. Certainly he'd expected it, but cowards always feared death.
The apparent king gave his subject leave to kill the traitor and Kali nearly did it herself. She was, after all, within inches of his neck. This was not, however, her matter. Her business was with the magicians and this...this was an internal affair.
The injured man had begun weeping and pleading upon order of his execution. Kali could barely disguise her disgust. Her face remained impassive, but her eye looked upon the man with intense scorn. Shouldn't he be grateful for being released from this realm of existence? Had she not possessed a single-minded purpose, Kali would have welcomed death - welcomed going home. The djinn's one good eye flicked back to the pink man, no more telltale emotion lingering in its depths.
"And what would you do now? That was the only man I found broken and bloody," implying that was the only one to tell the story, "the rest were...quite a mess." True, the scene she'd left behind had been quite the massacre. Kali was wickedly curious how the magicians' council was going to cover this one up; curious too about how the strigoi would handle the knowledge that a magician was behind this. Certainly it had been strigoi who drained those commoners, but the minister's aide had killed the lot of them before they'd even entered that square.
And Kali? A stranger? What was she doing walking straight into the heart of strigoi territory and being so completely blasé about it? ...Why, she was just being a good girl and kindly passing on information to those who had been seeking it. She smiled pleasantly.

These lips...
"He's a fool for trusting a magician at all. Of course he was being tricked. Who did he think he was talking to?" He questions with amusement, almost laughing where he sits, but his smile is taken over by those soft lips again.
Chevalier cares not at all about the other two in the room, the doomed man on the floor begging for his pitiful life. It really is sad... in a... pathetic way. It irks him. "Please rip him to shreds. The idiot doesn't deserve to be killed with just a slit of a knife to his throat."
Blue eyes roll.
Myron's hands soothe him and Chevalier smiles again.

He bowed his head to his king with pleasure he turned to the traitor. He was not stupid, he would not offer this man a simple death. Of course slicing his head clean off would have been the easiest thing to do, but he had a better idea.
To feed his weapon and cause pain and suffering upon the strigoi before him. Marcellus aimed his blade right at the mans chest but did not break the skin. A strange static emerged from the blade, black but purple.
It moved as if it had a mind of its own, the static reached for the man and borrowed into his skin. Inside was where it did it's work, basically ripped the man's lifeforce right out of his body.
Once done the static returned to the sword and quieted down. Marcellus then put his sword away and returned to his relaxed stance. He would have the body cleaned up later. He looked at Myron and sighed. "Still believe that there is nothing for me to worry about?"

now he turns attention to kali. her patience has been admirable, and he will not make her wait much more. “you have my thanks for bringing back this traitor. you’ve answered a great many questions for us by doing so.”
always so treacherous those magicians. he was hardly surprised to known one had orchestrated the whole attack, just as they were plotting behind his back to drive them out. how unfortunate that their plans would be foiled now that a one lived to tell the tale.
“what is your name? you must allow me to repay this debt of gratitude?”

Kali observed the execution of the traitor with polite interest, most curious about the sword which the one strigoi wielded. The death looked entirely unpleasant (which seemed to satisfy them) and was not too swift. To frank, she would have killed him more swiftly if only to ensure nothing else could pass from his lips - but blessedly the rogue seemed too terrified of his own imminent death to cast doubt on her. And with his death, she found "Lord Myron" finally turned his attention to her.
She merely smiled at his thanks, waving a hand slightly as though the matter was of no consequence to her. He asked her name and she pondered a moment, but could think of no reason not to give it. They were strigoi, not magicians, and from what she could observe they hated the magicians no less than she. "My name is Kali, though I'm not sure there's any debt you need to repay. I merely guided a lost sheep home." Sure she did. And she had no ulterior motive in coming down to visit the strigoi...riiiiight.
Kali wanted the magicians dead and gone, and she wasn't afraid of upsetting the balance to do it. It might take time, but she could be patient. So very, very patient. "So then," she addressed the strigoi present, "whatever shall you do with this knowledge?" They'd only just met, and she wasn't sure what possessed her to think strigoi might tell her of their plans - honestly they'd be stupid to do so. She didn't exactly expect an answer, just voicing her curiosity.

Electric, perhaps, but it's all so boring, inside the fool's body. Chevalier can't see anything at all that's going on to this idiot and he scowls. His eyes lift.
Satisfied? Chevalier is far from satisfied and he speaks it loudly in his mind for his king to hear. It was quick and, as painful as it might have been, it was too cowardly. All it did was rip out his lifeforce. There was no piercing of the skin, no bloodshed as payment for the dangerous move this strigoi had made.
The royal consort is angry, seething.
"Pompous idiot," directed to Marcellus.

Marcellus ignored Chevalier just as his king ignored him. Now want not the time to whine about something so insignificant. He never did have a care for chevalier and knew that the royal consort did not like him, that was perfectly fine. Marcellus had loyalty only to Myron, and only listened to him as well, Chevalier was just a voice that attempted to give the king good ideas from time to time.
Marcellus, being formerly human, used that as a way of connecting to some logical reasoning, reasoning that he liked to share with Myron. Still now the traitor was dead and all they had left was to figure out what this djinn wanted, and then find out what to do from there. Marcellus did not want to say it, but he was sure Myron would use these current events or his own gain in some way.
