No really, it wasn't his fault this time, but because of his reputation he was always the first one to be looked at. This time he was being accused of stealing one of the girls necklaces. It really was not his fault, honest, he would have known if he had taken something from one of the girls, even more so he would always give it back. He waved his arms in the air, defeated.
"I didn't do it! Honest!" He had to run, he was being chased by said woman, was was threatening to hit him with a shoe, a very dangerous looking shoe. "Somebody help, She's crazy!" He was running around the whole building trying to get away. Quite honestly, it was never a quiet moment in the brothel. It was usually very lively with the workers and the patrons hanging around, making merry and just having a grand ol' time. Today was not any different really. Which was why Nova was currently attending to the books of the brothel, making sure to keep tabs on everything to keep the place going.
Well, at least she was attending to them when she heard a very familiar voice shouting over the joyful noise of the others. Honestly, that boy had to learn to keep himself out of trouble.
Heaving a sigh, she stood from her chair and looked around for Jett until he zoomed right passed her followed by one of the female workers. Was that a shoe in her hand? Blinking in confusion, she hurried after them and when she finally caught up, stepped right in front of her brother to keep him from running anymore. Giving him a stern look, she crossed her arms over her chest before glancing in the woman's direction with the same look."What in the world did you do this time? Didn't I ask you the last time not to cause any trouble?"
This boy was going to be the reason why her hair was going to turn grey at such an early age.

Ah, just another day at the brothel. Henri came a few times a week to help out Nova, and in turn get paid for his rent. It wasn't unpleasant, either, especially at days like this. It was very lively that Henri couldn't help but chuckle. The regular hum drum of the brothel was something that he was used to, probably would miss this terribly.
But Henri had been more or less looking over more people than he was actively trying to bed patrons right now. Making sure everything was good on the floor before departing and leaving it all to Nova, currently attending to the books.
A familiar voice rang out. A familiar scenario played out for Henri. There was Jett again, getting in trouble. And this time a woman was following him, on a rampage. If he didn't know any better, he'd have thought Jett had gone and broken her heart or something. But the woman was familiar, a worker here. And she was wielding that shoe rather menacingly.
He was about to step in and intercede, but spotted Nova there. Hard to miss her, actually. "You stole again, Jett? Or did you really not do it this time." Typical day in the brothel, for sure.

"No, Really I had nothing to do with it. Really, I don't even know whats missing, really guys help me out." Jett had a pleading look in his eyes, he looked between his siblings and really hoped that they would help him. He couldn't believe that they were not believing him. They should have known by now, that if he had done it, he would have fessed up for it.
Jett flopped onto the floor, sitting on his ass and crossing his legs and arms. He waited for his siblings to either do something, or for him to get his ass handed to him. "Really guys? Help me out, I really did not do it, I would have given it back, promise."

"You do realize that it's hard to take your word for it seeing as you've taken other things before, right?" Nova sighed, shaking her head in utter disapproval. Goodness, she lost count of the times that he had gotten in trouble for stealing something from someone. Jett stole things so often that she was barely even fazed by it anymore.
However, since Henri had shown up and seemed to be giving him the benefit of the doubt, perhaps she could give Jett that as well.
"But I suppose I can take your word for it just this once, Jett. You have Henri to thank for that one. So stop being foolish and get up off the floor. You'll make someone trip and possibly hurt themselves or you. Also, you should thank Henri for being so understanding." That being said, she turned to the worker and gave her a curious look. The woman had settled down for the most part, although she still had the shoe at the ready. Probably just in case Jett did or said something foolish. But like hell would she let anyone touch her brother.
"Seeing as my brother claims that he didn't steal anything or knows what was even stolen, would you so kindly tell me what it is you accused him of stealing? Perhaps one of the other ladies borrowed it without giving you notice. It happens often enough, so perhaps that happened? Or if it really is missing, I'm sure we'd all be happy to help you find what it is you lost."
Jett better thank his lucky stars that Nova knew very well how to do damage control.

Jett was being so insistent, that Henri was really doubting his suspicions. But... if Jett didn't even know what was missing, then he couldn't have been him, right? Or he could be lying. Then again, Henri knew Jett, and Jett always returned his loot with a bit of persuading from the two of them. Actually, Jett always returned it even without persuading. Unless it was something that Jett really wanted, it was probable that he didn't actually steal it.
Sure, Henri felt a little bad for jumping to conclusions, but at the same time not really. Surely Jett could forgive the both of them for this seeing as the rate of him stealing something versus not stealing something leaned toward the former. It was like a second profession for him, even if the two of them were trying to kick the habit out of him.
Obviously it didn't work. "Jett, don't be like that. Of course Nova and I believe you, we're sorry for jumping to conclusions. Right, Nova?" He nudged her playfully before offering to help Jett get off the floor. "Don't act like a pouty baby, now. What will people say if they see you like that?"
The next course of action was to remove the offending shoe from the woman's possession, although it looked like Nova was already on it.

Of course they had their doubts, but come on, he was their brother have a little faith will ya. He wasn't really convinced even when they did say that they believed him, after all they should have believed him from the beginning, and there was still the shoe problem.
Jett did take Henri's help getting up, but he made it hard for Henri, using dead weight to almost pull his brother down with him before he gave in and got up. Who said that he was acting like a baby? He just wanted them to believe him and sometimes going to extremes was the only way. Jett grabbed his older brother and proceed to hide behind him, just in case the woman decided to come after him.
"Can we do something about the shoe please? And then maybe find this missing, THING, so that I can go back to having a life thank you!" Still holding on to his brother Jett gave Nova a puppy dog stare praying that she would save him.

When Henri nudged her, she couldn't help but roll her eyes before giving both her brother figures a smile. Honestly, she loved them both. Henri was there to help mediate whenever Jett did something silly or help calm the youngest down and Jett... Well, he was her little brother and she loved him anyways even if he did get himself into a mess of trouble frequently. She was very glad to have them both and she cared for them dearly which is exactly why she wasn't going to let anyone lay a finger on either one of them.
Not even someone who worked for her.
"It was a ruby necklace and it was precious to me," claimed the woman, still throwing a bit of a glare in the way of Jett. "None of the others that I've talked to have seen it. They could only tell me that the last one in the dressing room was him." With that, the woman pointed a finger at Jett.
Oh, well that made sense. "I see. Well, if you wouldn't mind putting down the shoe, I'm sure we can find a reasonable explanation for its disappearance."
Once the woman lowered the shoe, Nova turned right around and looked at first Henri then Jett. Honestly, he was such a child. "I do realize that Henri is big and strong, but do you really have to hide behind him, Jett? Goodness, how are we ever going to let you just go off all on your own?" She paused, tapping her chin in thought as she pondered over how a necklace could've gotten lost. It wasn't unheard of, but it was beyond rare as she always helped provide what she could in terms of jewelry and clothing for those that worked for her.
"Henri, do you think you could ask around with some of the others? I'll go looking in the dressing room as well as the working rooms just in case," Nova hummed, staring at Jett for a moment. "And I think Jett should go with you since... We don't want him getting into any trouble with the other workers right now. Or else we'll have them all claiming things are missing and that just won't do."

Henri stared at Jett almost incredulously. He'd been joking when he called him a baby, but he was really acting like one right now. Still, getting Jett up wasn't too difficult. Been nine years older and a great deal stronger made it all the more easier. Despite being 'dead weight', it was no problem for him, but still. Staring at his little brother like he was a nuisance. Which he was, but a lovable one, of course.
To further prove the point of being a giant baby, Jett managed to hide behind Henri. While the woman was still pointing a shoe at him, surely that action was going a little too far, wasn't it? Perhaps Henri was being a little immature to Jett, but he was going to treat him like he was acting.

Jett gave his sister a shocked look and looked as if he had been stabbed in the heart. "Sis what do you mean by that? Were you planning on getting rid of me?"
Although he was not taking it all to heart, the idea of being put back on the streets was not something that he wanted to feel again. He stepped away from hiding behind Henri after Nova had made sure that the shoe was put down. Now that his life was no longer in danger he was free to stand up for himself again. Jett turned his had to look at Henri.
"Yea, I was doing my job, I always check all the dressing rooms and what not before the girls use them so to make sure no creeps are hiding in them." Really now he was getting in trouble for doing his job? It wasn't fair, really not fair in the slightest. Jett shrugged really having no answer to what could of happened.
"All i know is that I didn't even touch anything while I was in there." He sighed, he knew that he was a bit of a theif, but he had at least some self control, like had he never took anything from his siblings.

Nova was honestly praying to whatever deity could hear her that they would find this necklace. Not only because she understood what it was to lose something of sentimental value, but also because she would probably have to pay money to this woman in order to replace the lost necklace. And if she had to pay to replace the one necklace, she'd probably have to pay to replace any other personal item that any of the other workers lost. Which would, most likely, start happening with an alarming frequency.
That was just bad practice and she was not going to let this place be run into the ground. Everyone worked too hard and if she lost the place, everyone who worked there would be put on the streets yet again. And Nova knew from experience that the streets were much harder than living in a brothel such as this.
So she went with the woman, first searching in every nook and cranny of the working rooms. There was nothing out of place and there was certainly no necklace. They then moved to some of the dressing rooms, but again, they came up with nothing.
"Well, it seems that the necklace may be gone for good if we haven't found it yet," she sighed, trying to think of another idea as to where it could possibly be. No one had turned in anything, so what if one of the patrons had taken it? It was a possibility since no one was actively watching the dressing rooms unless Jett was making his rounds, but it would be easy for any patron to sneak in and steal something if they wanted to. But of course Nova wasn't going to tell the woman that. "Perhaps some of the other workers have seen it. How about we ask them, hmm? If we come up with nothing, we'll go check with my brothers to see if they managed to find anything."
That being said, Nova and the woman began asking around the busy brothel if they had seen the necklace.

Henri was incredibly hopeful, even in the face of adversity. He doubted that Jett could have kept the act as long as he had, so it couldn't have been an act. And all that needed to happen was to find the necklace and clear his brother's name.
If only that was as easily done as it was said.
Girl after girl after girl he asked, and turned up with nothing. Although he didn't doubt that the presence of Jett made it any easier on him. Still, he went on with his good natured presence and tried not to sound accusatory. After all, they were just looking for a possible culprit, a possible clue.
Nothing. At least, no one fessed up to anything. Not that he expected as much. "Jett, did you see anyone on your rounds at all? Maybe a patron or maybe even a straggler. Could be an inside job. We ought to check into that - maybe Nova's turned up with something? I know we aren't supposed to go snooping in another's belongings though."
Where else could it be, though? Henri thought long and hard. Jett was the most likely thief, easy to pin the blame on, yet everyone knew that he always gave back what he stole - all in good fun for everyone but the wronged party. So that didn't make any sense. "What are your ideas this, Jett? If you were a master thief, where would that necklace be right now?"

Oh come on, what did a guy have to do for people to trust him, they should know him, they really should. Still he would go along with whatever his siblings had planned if it meant that the air would get cleared and he would be safe from anymore shoe attacks. Still he followed his brother, not that it made much of a difference. No matter who Henri talked to no one really had anything good to say. He even asked Jett a decent question, although he felt that he had already answered it.
"No, no one, I always check very carefully, the last thing I want is for any of the girls to get hurt on my watch." It was true, he liked everyone here and really wanted to keep the girls safe, it was why he was a bouncer in the first place. He was more then able to hold his own in a fight, and was not scared to beat anyone up to protect someone else.
Still at the end of their search Henri asked Jett a question that even he was not sure on. "I don't know bro, I mean maybe check her neck? It could be like those people that think they lose their glasses, but its like still on their head?" He was really at a lost for any other ideas and really hoped that Nova had some answers.

Nothing. They had come up with absolutely nothing and Nova kind of wanted to tear her hair out because of it. None of the workers that she and the woman asked knew nothing at all about the necklace. It was hopeless, apparently. At least, that was what she was thinking as she began looking for her brothers. Maybe they had some luck with this?
Well, at least she was heading off to look for her brothers when she heard the woman behind her squeal.
"My necklace!" The woman cried.
Nova turned around to catch the woman run off towards a blonde worker and the two began to argue. The woman was accusing the other of stealing while the blonde called her crazy. Then something absolutely mindboggling happened: the two women began to physically fight. Nova could only stare at the sight before her, surprise and horror evident on her face as she watched the scene unfold.
The two women were physically fighting. The customers that were there were chanting and cheering on the fight, obviously awed by the fact that the women were practically ripping each other's clothes as they fought. Meanwhile, the workers were just standing there just as surprise as Nova was.
She had to stop this immediately.
"That's enough!" she shrieked loudly, so much so that she managed to drown out a good portion of the noise while she rushed to the women's sides. She was trying to pull them apart, but considering the fact that they were still clawing at each other, she really wasn't too keen on getting dragged into the fight. Where were her brothers when she needed them? "Henri, Jett! Hurry up and get over here! I need help!"
Nova hoped that they could hear her from where they were. If not, breaking the two women apart was going to be a lot harder.

"You know, one day you'll get in trouble for all that snark you have." The woman couldn't have been all that stupid, could she have been? If it had been on her neck the entire time, Henri would have shaken his head, disappointingly. Still, it was nowhere to be found and he couldn't help but feel a little disappointed. The loss of a necklace would probably have some dire consequences on Nova, and he'd really liked to avoid that. Now if Jett had really stolen it, things would have been okay, so the question became, who stole it?
Henri had very little time to ponder upon it before a commotion happened. Well, at first Henri had dismissed it as nothing, someone maybe bumped into something, that happened all the time. And then the chanting, and the cheering. The patrons! He dragged Jett along without so much as explaining, because something was happening and they weren't close enough to do anything about it.
He'd heard Nova's cries for help almost immediately after exiting the dressing room, looking for her in a hurry. He found the fight before he found his sister.
He, like many of the other workers, stared in stunned silence before ripping towards the masses to get to the center of it. Why in the world would they be fighting in the middle of something so important? Most importantly, they were tearing into each other like beasts, animals. Henri sincerely hoped no one had paid anyone to do this, because what sort of weird kink was this? And with Nova screaming like that, he assumed it was off the job.
Henri was a pretty large guy. Stepping between two women, determined to tear each other apart, was a lot easier said than done. Still, he managed to make his way between them, though not without a few scratches himself. "Please, ladies, calm down. What's the matter? What happened?" He'd managed one look to see the state of dress they were in. One was doing fine for herself, the other not so much. He took of his shirt and offered it to her to cover her up. Sure, they were in a brothel, but there were still some things that needed to be kept covered up, especially when those things were the very tools of her trade.
After managing the calm them down, he shot a look towards Nova that cried 'What the heck happened here?'.
