Nergal is a Strigoi older than Methuselah and in possession of teaspoon’s moral fiber. He does as he pleases because he could really care less what these young fools think. To put it bluntly: this is a grumpy old man who would rather drink high grade blood and wine and fornicate his way to the grave. Sadly, he is no longer a god among men, and thus must submit to the painful agony of bureaucracy to get anything done. (Don’t let him lie; Nergal delights in the trivial details of contracts and legal matters. If you get him happy enough he’s been known to help other people wade through the red tape.)
He was a god of a civilization that is now nothing but dust and a chapter in a history book, and it behooves one to remember it. His is a memory that makes elephants look forgetful, and he is the vindictive sort to hold a grudge on your entire lineage due to a slight made by one. (He’ll burn the heart out of you and suck on your marrow before he’ll let you get away with slighting him.) But pay him the proper respect, mind your manners and observe the rules of society and you might just get an ally for all time. Nergal doesn’t have friends. He has enemies and allies, lovers and associates, and the lines mingle in a churning chaos that only makes sense only to the parties involved.

nergal yes i want to play with fire sign me up! i humbly offer hyde because she's a strigoi noble and hey nergal's a strigoi nobility and they'd know each other. she'd want an ally out of him, and she follows the rules of the strigoi aristocracy fairly well, and she'd love to know people of high calibre and stuff. so idk. business buds i guess. something like that. how's that for a plot. it's not very good but i tried. unless you want henri desrosiers by sweet cinnamon bun. |

hyde, ▷ I don't think the sweet cinnamon bun would survive. So. hyde and Nergal would most likely get along. Granted, they're almost guaranteed to know each other at least in passing. They're progenitors. Just... ones that don't make more Strigoi. Hyde and Nergal are almost obligated to thread at some point. nergal & judah stafford is literally the antithesis of minding your manners and observing rules so nergal would probably hate him. he also, by virtue of being the king's pet, his prized livestock, he's untouchable.
on top of that he's also a rebel so i imagine nergal distrusts and dislikes him, probably always watching him out the corner of his eye. judah basically hates everyone, especially strigoi so they'd have some fun tension.
& sigrun could also be interesting. i'm not entirely sure how they'd meet, but her main magic thing is flame, so they're similar in that sense. otherwise they're entirely opposite - sigrun doesn't understand beareaucracy, but i think she'd like to. she probably finds him intriguing, is sort of in awe the way he's adapted to humanity, and he probably finds her annoying. |

judah stafford and nergal would get on like cats and dogs. Nergal would hate him and yet trust him with the most ridiculous things at the same time. He has the king's grace, so they're obliged to at least get along. And it's not like Nergal wouldn't throw the poor human under the bus as a distraction. I'm sorry, this is comedy gold right here. Can we do this thing?
sigrun oh... poor Sigrun. Nergal might actual rescind his usual rule of snapping magician necks for Sigrun. He'd probably offer to add her magician to his collection if only because he'd want to keep Sigrun. This is like the most complicated way of going 'aw she's cute and Nergal wants to squish her cheeks and let her play with matches'. |

nergal lmao so after what you said what came to mind was the possibility of both of them benefiting from each other ... so here's what i've got going for a possible plot b/w ur son and astrid. attie is one of the leaders for the resistance and? they only recently learned about the stirgoi existing right lmao so!!!! to have a good resistance u gotta be one step ahead of the game so here's where my idea comes into play: astrid acts as a sort of livestock + bedtime pal for nergal and nergal lets some information slip about the stirgoi so ~she can provide intel~ i said she's a church girl but lmao she was ... abstinence be damned if it gets her the information she needs tho ... i mean idk if it's in his nature to reveal anything or if this would even work but its just an idea!!!! yay/nay? |
