the remants of the sunset are still scattered at the horizon, the pinkened clouds, the golden glow at their linings. she keeps an eye on the sky as she weaves through the crowd. he has never mastered the human restraint of movement, and she seems to dance more than she does walk, her steps fluid and swift.
she can only keep up for so long, before she stumbles into someone. for all her small frame, she is weighty, knocking the stranger back and his armload of things to the ground.
sigrun squeals. with a sweep of her arm, she gathers up his things, lets them float until he can collect them.

Being a magician's apprentice isn't all about his training. Errands and doing other menial tasks for his mentor are a part of the deal too, and while he's whined in his head about it all his first few years, it's been too long to keep complaining. Or... maybe he's just gotten used to it.
Either way, now is a time where he's got a load of books in his arms and not for himself either. His mentor had requested them, and so as per his status as apprentice, he'd been tasked with fetching them.
That's why a look of horror crosses his face when someone barrels into him and not only he but the books go sprawling onto the ground. Oh god, can advanced magicians like his teacher sense when even books have been dirtied?! He hopes they can't.
Marlin's ready to accept the apology gratefully though, before the books begin to float too. His task of picking them up is momentarily forgotten as he stares wide eyed at the blue haired lady magicking his things.
"That's so cool," he breathes. "Are you a magician too?" He looks around as if he would be able to see a nearby Djinn that doesn't want to be seen.

sigrun stares back, not entirely sure why he seems taken aback - as if he's never seen magic before. but judging from the titles in his arms, sigrun is very certain he has.
"oh god, no." she laughs. she thinks she wants to tell leopold about this, that she's been mistaken for a human. he tells her she is nothing like one, that she doesn't understand or impersonate them very well. the smile she flashes the boy is telling of this.
a little impatiently, the books wriggle in the air. like small, eager puppies, wanting to be held.

"Oh... oh god I'm so sorry!" If she's not a magician then she's gotta be... "So... you're a Djinn." He looks around again, as if her contracter is around the corner or in the shadows, but of course no one comes. Man how embarrassing...!
"I-- oh shit." The magician cuts himself off as he renotices the floating books as books his master needs and books he'd dropped. Hastily plucking them from the air, they look... okay-ish and hopefully he can pass it off as the wear and tear of the years when he delivers them.
He sighs when they're all in his arms again. "Ah thanks a lot, you're so much more helpful than my partner." Nasnan would probably have just laughed at him.

she only rocks back and forth on her heels, looking amused, nodding. she follows his gaze sidelong, finds her attention drift back to the sky until he thanks her.
sigrun likes the quick and thoughtless rhythm of his words.
"well, it's just simple levitation." she says - nothing that even a weak djinn couldn't manage. though he does seem to be alone.
